B|-------------2-----------------------|
G|-------------------------------------|
D|-------------------------------------|
A|-------------------------------------|
E|-------------------------------------|

Play this solo 2X each time in between verses.

You and I in a little toy shop
Buy a bag of balloons with the money we've got
Set them free at the break of dawn
'Til one by one they were gone
Back at base, bugs in the software
Flash the message, something's out there
Floating in the summer sky
Ninety-nine red balloons go by

Ninety-nine red balloons
Floating in the summer sky
Panic bells, it's red alert
There's something here from somewhere else
The war machine springs to life
Opens up one eager eye
Focusing it on the sky
Where ninety-nine red balloons go by

Ninety-nine Decision Street
Ninety-nine ministers meet
To worry, worry, super scurry
Call the troops out in a hurry
This is what we've waited for
This is it, boys, this is war
The President is on the line
As ninety-nine red balloons go by

Ninety-nine knights of the air
Ride super-high-tech jet fighters
Everyone's a superhero
Everyone's a Captain Kirk
With orders to identify
To clarify and classify
Scramble in the summer sky
As ninety-nine red balloons go by
As ninety-nine red balloons go by

Ninety-nine dreams I have had
And every one a red balloon
It's all over, and I'm standing pretty
In this dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenir
Just to prove the world was here
And here is a red balloon
I think of you and let it go

Solo:
E|-2-4-0-4-2-0------4-2-0-0---0----0-2---------------|
B|--------------2-----------2----2-------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------|

E|-2-4-0-4-2-0------4-2-0-0---7-4-2-4----------------|
B|--------------2-----------2------------------------|
G|---------------------------------------------------|
D|---------------------------------------------------|
A|---------------------------------------------------|
E|---------------------------------------------------|

Would LOVE to see an Absynthe tab. I'm trying but I can't get anything. I've figured out Icarus, No Woman No Fly, Against the Night, Eleven Saints, Without, and Last Song (Which I believe is wrong but sounds ok) but I think they're already all up here.

This is from some one else, but I edited it and added stuff and maped out the whole song out.

Am "riff" thing is just accented down stroked chords just one each:
{Am Am Am E Am}
Intro:
e--------------0------------0----------
b--1--3------1---3--1-----0-----0----
g------------2-------------1---1------
d-----------2-------------2----------- followed by:{am riff}
a----------0-------------2-------------
e------------------------0--------------

And the “Hriff) is just like the intro but hit the AM chourd, the do the hammer on of “1h3” and then “1” then strum a e chord and then do the “1-0” part on the intro tab and do the am riff

The flowers by your bed are wilting.{am}
The sun is setting in the west. {e}
A fog is covering your eyes, {e}
Your stockings are attracting flies,{e}
                                   (am riff)
Decay is nibbling at the boards on which you rest

There's someone waiting at your window, {am}
Familiar face without a name. {e}
One night he'll creep in like the mist, {e}
To touch your forehead with a kiss, {e}
                                       (am riff)
And lead you back into the void from whence you came.
                             (f)(e)                               (am)
We've all begun to die, and don'tknow what to do.
             (F)                   (e)       (am riff)
Since it hurts to pray to God, when God is dying too.
                          (f)    (e)                           (am)  (f)
Takes strength to laugh, when you start to drown.
(Hriff)
And we dance while the sky crashes down.

And then the only other part is this:
Dm                f
All that you love
Dm                    f
All that you breth turns to dust

Don’t remember the lyrics… doing it from memory

And this pattern repeats, but of course theres more lyrics…

heres a qucik tab for icarus:

The picking pattern through the song is just this:3.2 over a Am chord or a E chourd, and he switches between the two. He starts with a Am, then E etc. and he muffles the chord the the hole song.He does this for the first two verses and then on the third he changes the picking patter to picking the: 4 and 3 and 2 at the same time over the same chords with his foot stomping and such.

For the chors he plays a E in a rythmatic way

for the other part("let it go"

He plays at first this over a Dm chord:4,3,2,1,2 then strum the first three stings a couple times the he does a Am chord and pick 5,4,3,2,1,2,3 and strums up once. Then does a quick E in a rythmatic way I'm sure you can figure it out. Then he does a couple taps on his guitar and goes into this part:

Then for the last part he does a bass line on all these chords and strums fast and quick with these chords in this order:Dm,Am,E,Am,Dm,Am,E,Am then he starts to strum thoes chords really fast a couple of times and ends one a a E(make sure to strum that chord the last time takeing place the time the Am takes to)

And the end he does this:Am,E,Am

He also does once in a while varations ofs 3,4 ensted of 3, 5.

Hope this is not to confusing for I am to lazy to write a good one over lyrics and make it more clearer with tab and such but feel free for me to clear something out for you and you can get the lyrics of the lyric page and if enofe people want me to make a better tab out of this, I will.

Icarus:

wow, I won the record ant the version is a lot different then the live version on youtube... Anyway, heres the record version:

    (Am chord)                  (E chord)
---------------               -------------
------------1--               ----------0--
----2----------               ----1--------
-2------2------                --2----2----
---------------                 -------------
---------------...etc. then  -------------       Thats your pattern for your verse

Then for the "it burns, it herts, I tumble to the earth" part you play a E chord and I'm sure you can figure out what pattern he is doing for his sturmming.

And for the first "letting go, i think im letting go" part the chord progression is this:

Dm,AmE,E,E,E, Am, Am, Am ,Am(bass line on the first 2 Am)

And for the "etting go part that makes you wanna to go crazy and dance Wink the pattern is this:

Dm, Am, E, Am, repeat.(with varations of faster strumming and slower)

And for the last E chord part where he says all 3 chorses the secend time he strums it with his thumbe on the  secend time he says(cry entill I break) if you know what I mean.

And for the final ending part he strums down these simple chords:

Am,E,Am

Quote from: Taughm
If anyone came up with a good way of playing Coda on guitar, I'd be most grateful and probably offer to shine their shoes.

I figured out the chords to Coda okay enough. Here it is in basics....

VERSES:

Am
Sculpted clay, paper scraps, bits of wood, old belt straps.

G......................................C
Everyone is looking for their friend.

Dm...........................................Am
Hearts, balloons, broken wings. A puppet dangles by his strings

......E7.......................................Am
And dreams of who is at the other end.

CHORUS:

...........E7......................Am
We are working upon this canvas.

.......Dm..................C
It is perfect and it is madness.

...........Dm................................Am
We are only just beginning, we're only just beginning

........E7......................Am
To unearth this ancient sadness.

*And the sad and beautiful little instrumental part after the second chorus goes something like...

G.......C
G.......C..G..Am

..ya gotta play along with it to know the timing.

The rest all goes more or less accordingly. Hope this all helps a little.

Anyone have tab/chords for the song "Against The Night". I did a quick version just by ear, but I don't trust my ear too well. Any help would be much appreciated!

Here's Against the Night I think...

---------------------C
Hold on to these words
----------G---------------------------------------Am
Like to think that they may offer some protection
--Dm-Dm6-C-------------------G
Against the night

---------------C
Against the night
G--------------------------------Am
Life can feel transparent; a reflection
Dm---Dm6---C--------G
----A trick of light

-----------F-------------------C
So when sleep just won’t come
-------------Em-------------Am
And you’ve got no occupation
-----Dm-----------------------------------------G-----G6--G7
But nibbling at the fruit of a melancholy tree

Dm7

--------------------------C
Just hold on to these words
G-------------C
Hold on to me
