Camp Boat - Sat, July 23:
Near Everett, WA - 2 pm - FREE!

Near the mouth of the Snohomish River in Everett there are a bunch of old huge wooden ships that are being used as breakwaters. They are rusty, dangerous and difficult to get to (you need a boat!) The perfect place for a dance party!

Here's a MAP.

Honestly, this is an INCREDIBLE place. These ancient wooden ships are over 100 years old and seeing them erupting out of the water is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. On a sunny day, the water that fills the cargo bays on the ships is emerald green and dozens of bald eagles usually perch on these ships. (CUTE UPDATE: Yesterday I saw three baby seals. I see seals all the time, but these were adorable.)

GETTING THERE:
The easiest way to get there is by boat from the 10th Street Boat Launch at Marine Park in Everett. Head north around Jetty Island and you will see the ships. We will be on the East end of the last boat. Be aware that the water close to the ships is very shallow in some spots. There is also another ship dangerously submerged past the last visible ship. Bring bouys to tie off with!

We will be setting up on the Eastern end of the last boat in the line. You will probably want to tie off on the far side of the boat, which means going around the breakwater. Be very careful of your propeller and hull! There is another boat submerged past the last visible boat. Also, be aware that the waters here are shallow. The tides will be fairly high for the entire afternoon, but you are still best off with a flat-bottom boatt.

If you do not have a boat, I will be ferrying people from the 10th St Marina. For the day, this number will be working for that purpose: (206)659-9116. You can call or text.

If you have a boat and want to help ferry people, please drop me an e-mail: jason@jasonwebley.com

SAFETY:
I've picked the safest spot on these boats and we will be roping off areas where the decking is most suspicious. This is going to be really fun, but please don't be stupid:

- Tread VERY carefully everywhere. You are on an old wooden ship with lots of rusty things pointing out of it. Watch your footing, keep your guard up.
- Be especially careful getting on and off the boat. If you are uncertain, call for help.
- While on a boat or ferry, there must be a life jacket for each person on a boat or raft.
- If you are not a confident swimmer, carry a life vest always.
- If you decide to explore the other ships, be VERY CAREFUL and DO NOT GO ALONE. They are very cool, but they are definitely more dangerous.
- The water is very cold even in summer. Don't swim unless you have a wet-suit or are experienced with that sort of thing.
- Don't get drunk. If you want to have a little bit to drink, I'm not going to stop you, but if you get drunk you are probably going to get hurt.
- We will have some basic first aid materials. If you get cut or scratched, let us know right away!

WHAT TO BRING:
- A boat!
- A life-jacket!
- Food to eat and to share!
- Water and other beverages to drink and to share.
- Pirate attire, should you desire.

Hope to see you out there!
