'Warm and Buttery' was recorded at the Eastern House in December of 1993 by Richard Barlow and Toast.  About 30 copies of this tape were made.  The B-side contained a sampler with songs by friends of the band: Self-Help Seminar, Harvey Danger, Buzz and Agnes Dei.  (Ken also happened to be in three of those four bands.)

During the 'Warm and Buttery' sessions we also recorded 'Agatha,' a song about Ken's cat.  Ken's vocals were added the following December.  Jason's and Agatha's (that is really what she sounded like) didn't get put on until 1997.  Jason re-mixed, re-mastered and kind of ruined the songs in 1997.  Maybe he will fix them some day.

Toast played only two concerts.  We stopped after Ken left Seattle for graduate school.  A second set of songs entitled "In the name of the bread, the butter and the heating element" were recorded while he was visiting in December of 1994.  Only one copy of that tape was made.
